Hello!
I have the Midiman Audiophile 2496 card and ALSA 0.5.11, kernel 2.4.17,
SuSE 7.1.

I used alsaconf to install the soundcard. alsaconf found the card,
changed modules.conf and asked for playing a test sound. I selected
"yes" and at this point it crashed:

-------------snip------------------------------------
Aplay: version 0.5.10 by Jaroslav Kysela <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Using soundcard 'ICEnsemble ICE1712 at 0x9800, irq 5'
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/test.wav' : Signed 16-bit Little
Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo
Aplay: unable to set channel params
===============================================================================

You can use aplay to play audio files with ALSA, and almost
any OSS sound tools and games out there should also work.

When you run 'rcalsasound stop' your mixer settings will
 be saved to /etc/asound.conf
They will be restored on the next 'rcalsasound start' which
 is used to load ALSA.

For adjustment of volumes, please use alsamixer or gamix.

 Have a fun!

I tried 2 other player and both failed. I looked in modules.conf and
the configuration is right.
The program for this card envy24control also failed with "No such
device or address"

What should I do?! Please help!!
Jan
