well the thing sounds amazing in windows! figured the drivers must be stable by now. i will try earlier alsa 0.9 versions as well. i really dont want to have to install my sblive to get sound under linux. and yes, you must be the luckiest guy with an audiophile!
here is my system: mostly stock slackware 8.0 w/ smp kernel 2.4.12 tyan tiger mp board 2x amd durons 1000MHz geforce mx2 400 agp video 512 Mb ram realtek 8139 lan card 2 hdd, zip250, floppy i thought i remembered someone else having lockup problems running an smp kernel with this card. could smp be part of the problem? is there a preferred compiler or glibc version to use to compile alsa drivers? :P ps - does anyone know of a cd player app that rips and then plays pcm audio rather than using the cd cable, as the audiophile doesnt have a cd input on the card? >I am very pleased with my Audiophile, it works and sounds a lot better >than the SBLive did. > >I must be the luckiest guy on this list of those, who own an Audiophile :-) > > Frank Barknecht ________________________________________________________________ Sent via the EV1 webmail system at mail.ev1.net _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
