Hi, I'm somewhat new to Linux, but not to programming, and I've been
having problems compiling the alsa drivers. I've tried both 0.5.9d and
0.4.1d. I got similar errors both times: parse errors, although in
different spots. Is this indicative of some other problem? I'm running
Mandrake 8.1 which has kernel 2.4.8-26. I have an SB Live Platinum. In
0.5.9d, the specific error I'm getting is in the macro (and similar macros
in other files, if I try to workaround it) #define
snd_ad1816a_printk(args...) snd_printk(__FILE__": " ##args). It says there
is a parse error before __FILE__. If I fix this, it just pops up in
similar ways in other files. I haven't tried the newer beta drivers.
Should I give them a shot or is something possibly wrong with my compiler
or... ? Thanks a lot.
        -Zach
