Hi.

Before anything, I'm sorry if this question was answered already, but I
couldn't be able to search on Geocrawler archives (it seems to have
problem with the database for posts after May 2001).

I have RedHat Linux 7.2, Kernel 2.4.7, a Creative SB Live! and lastest
release of Alsa drivers (0.9.0beta12).

It compiled ok, all drivers (a lot) loaded successfully, wave and CD
played good, joystick worked with no problems, but there is no way to
hear a single MIDI note.

When I put it to play a MIDI file, it starts "playing",
/proc/asound/seq/oss reports it as running, but all sound falls on a
blackhole... nothing is heard.

Tryed with "playmidi -e" and "playmidi -a". /proc/asound/seq/oss reports:

<snip>
Number of applications: 1

Application 0: port 1 : queue 0
   sequencer mode = synth : file open mode = write
   max queue length 1024
</snip>

I have tryed to raise the volume, but there is no "Synth" or "MIDI" on
Mixer.

% aumix -s q
synth 0, 0
% aumix -s 80
% aumix -s q
synth 0, 0

I have also tryed to load a SoundFont bank with sfxload, but nothing
happened.

Alsa was configured as: --with-cards=emu10k1 --with-oss=yes
--with-sequencer=yes --with-debug=full

No (?) debug messages is printed to /var/log/messages.

Modules loaded: snd-seq-midi snd-emu10k1-synth snd-emux-synth
snd-seq-midi-emul snd-seq-virmidi snd-seq-oss snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq
snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-emu10k1 snd-pcm snd-timer snd-ac97-codec
snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device snd-hwdep snd-util-mem snd soundcore joydev
emu10k1-gp analog gameport input

I hope someone know the solution to this problem.
