I put the card in a slot that doesn't share its IRQ with anything else and now I can see irq10 in /proc/interrupts reserved for it. Altough I still have the same problem. My bios setting for latency is set to 32 so I'm wondering why it's settings 64 in dmesg:
PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 02:0a.0 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 02:0a.0 to 64 All the PNP settings are turned off in bios and I'm assigning irq manually. I also notice that my nvidia graphic card set a latency pretty high even if I have the "pci priority for slot1" option turned off my bios: Bus 1, device 0, function 0: VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV15 DDR (GeForce2 GTS) (rev 164). IRQ 11. Master Capable. Latency=248. Min Gnt=5.Max Lat=1. Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xec000000 [0xecffffff]. Prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xf0000000 [0xf7ffffff]. I still get the dropouts in xmms while doing other stuff like surfing the web or I can reproduce the problem just by doing su to root and then typing "ctrl+d" to logout and then at that point the sound cuts for 1 sec. I'm really getting desperate and running out of ideas. _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
