Hi,
I realise that the information that I am asking
about in this post may not yet be public knowledge, but I thought I'd give it a
go (especially since I think that some of the Alsa team are also involved with
SuSE ;^)
I've been running SuSE 7.3 for a little while, and
haven't had any luck getting my Audiophile 2496 to work. The device
driver is installed fine, but I keep getting errors when I try build the
envy24control. I've tried both the alsa-tools-0.9.0beta12.tar.bz2 and the
envy24control-0.0.1 thru 0.0.4., all with no luck.
Incorrect libasound headers, GTK_Config errors, and
a few others ... all have proved a little too challenging for me to
solve.
I read today that the new SuSE 8.0 includes quote
"new sound driver software Alsa 0.9". Does it seem reasonable that from an
install of 8.0 I would be able to get the system to install the envy24control
panel. This seems like the only option I have left.
Any advice is appreciated,
Stuart.
