I'm currently looking at: Terratec DMX X-fire 1024 (CS4624) Hercules Game Theater XP (CS4630) Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (CS4630) Can anyone post details on current support status of these cards in ALSA? The Wiki entry and FAQs don't really give much information. Specifically, I'm interested in: - Hardware MIDI synth, and DLS support - Internal (waveblaster socket) and external (joystick port) MIDI MPU-401 input and output - SPDIF/TOSlink input and output - multi-channel output (4/6 channel) - OPL/FM output (yeah, yeah, *I* still use it) - mmap'ed IO support - 3D sound support - overall quality of driver, does it behave properly under system load, any popping/clicking or other weirdness? - mixer/EQ features I'm really leaning towards the DMX X-fire because of the many inputs and outputs.
