I did'nt run "./snddevices" since I read the HOWTO at http://www.alsa-
project.org/alsa-doc/alsa-howto/:
"Run the ./snddevices script to create new sound devices in /dev directory.
Skip this step, if you have a kernel with the DEVFS support."
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Do you mean I should run it if I have DEVFS support ?
