Hello together!

I've recently compiled Linux 2.4.18 with preempt and
low-latency-Patch. I use Alsa 0.5.11 and also compiled and installed
the Alsa modules for the new kernel. But there seems to be a problem
as xmms crashes at startup with a segmentation fault. This happens
with xmms 1.2.7 and xmms 1.2.5 but not with kernel 2.4.14 I've used
until now. On Linux Kernel Mailing List I found a hint that this
behaviour was caused by Alsa. Is this right? Does anybody know the
problem and/or a solution? Should I update to Alsa 0.9 perhaps?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Christoph
