i finally got it working by reverting to the last beta build before the rc1.
now the problem is that sox or ogg123 or mpg123 won't play to the card. i
get all the sounds from KDE (window minimizing, maximizing, etc) but can't
play my audio files. if i pass no params to the above programs, they just
sit there without outputting anything. if i pass "oss" to ogg123, it will
look like it's outputting to the oss driver but i hear nothing.
any ideas??
