did you run "make install" on alsa-driver before running configure on alsa-lib? > when > in the alsa-lib-0.9.0.rc2 directory i do > ./configure > or > ./configure --with-cards=via8233 --with-oss=yes no, these options are for alsa-driver. you don't need to specify anything on alsa-lib unless you have special settings. also, don't forget to run "make install" on alsa-lib before building alsa-utils and alsa-tools.
