did you run "make install" on alsa-driver before running configure on
alsa-lib?

no, these options are for alsa-driver.
you don't need to specify anything on alsa-lib unless you have special
settings.

also, don't forget to run "make install" on alsa-lib before building
alsa-utils and alsa-tools.
