Guys/Lady's,

My boss gave me a RME952 Hammerfall to use it in Linux, i asked specificly for
that card, because of the great stories i found on the alsa-website.

Now i'm busy with it for 2 weeks, and it still doesn't work the way i want it.

I only want to play, on multiple channels!

What i did:

- I compiled all alsa-packages, compiled the 'driver' package with oss support
and support for my card
- Make install, reboot, etc

When i load my driver, it says nothing at all so it seems to be okay..

When i try to listen now, i hear my music (tits.mp3, but that doesn't matter
:-), but it plays over all (8 in our situation) channels we've connected.

What i want, is playing music and tell mpg123 (for example) the channel it
should play on.

A little fact; i followed a lot of alsa manuals, manuals tell me about the
mixer that i should use to unmute things, etc. When i try to start a/the
mixer, it doesn't work:

Aumix can't open my mixer device (yes, i tried many of them)
amixer say's nothing at all (should show some mixer information)
alsamixer says :cannot open mixer elems.

Can anybody push me into the right direction? I searched for devices like
/dev/dspC1 :-) or something like that, but i found nothing at all.

I get 22 hammerfalls if it work, 22 machines to use it (all @ 1.8GHz), and all
machines run linux. If i don't get it working, i have to install windows 2000
on it (so that's why i post this, i don't want to use windows on those
boxes).

I hope that anybody can help me, and understands my bad english :-).

When it works; can anybody tell me how to donate some money to the
alsa-project?

Thanks a lot!
