I am new to alsa
Everything seems fine with my setup but, I when I try to capture on my rme32 I get 
this nasty bugger



[root@rme32 root]# ecasound -sr 48000 -i:alsa,hw:1,0 -o:test.wav

I'm quite sure I'ts NOT busy. i may be wrong

While playing some noise into the spdif I figured a browse in /proc may be in order..
but honestly I do not know what I'm looking for.. ;(

General settings
   receiver: CS8412
   format: 16 bit, Stereo

Input settings
   input: coaxial (2 channels)

   format: IEC958 (consumer)
   emphasis: off


Looks like it knows my feed is there!


[root@rme32 root]# cat /proc/asound/card1/pcm0c/sub0/status
closed


Not sure what "closed" means..


PLease please please... if anyone has a clue or can please point me in the "where to 
look" direction 
it would be most appericated..
