Hi all, I'm currently using Alsa for my Hercules Game Theater XP and it works well enough for me, leaving the fact I can't enjoy my 5.1 speakerset behind. For those of you still trying to contact Hercules by the way, I contacted the PR-manager and he told me Hercules never did support linux and they aren't planning on doing this in the nearby future. He told me to contact cirrus, but not to expect much of it :-) Enough chitchat, my problem:
I also got a Hauppage tv/radio - card which works just great accept for one thing. The sound is very quiet. It is hooked up to my AUX-input of my GTXP. With the mixer @ max and my speakerset fully open, I get reasonable sound out of it, but you understand that when somebody sends me a message via gaim, my ears have to put through a lot, since PCM works at the normal levels :-) With a little experimenting I noticed that when I start xmms, open a song, play it and then put it on pause, the sound of my tv/radio is also normal. So in other words, my sound card doesn't "know" it's receiving a signal and doesn't amplify it. Long story made short: Is there a way to tell my GTXP that he should start amplifying? -- Regards, Mathy Vanvoorden ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of that same old cell phone?
