hi i have a brandnew laptop with integrated SiS 650 chipset, so i have a soundcard with SiS 7012 chipset. (the snd-intel8x0 alsamodule)
i installed suse 8.0 but the yast2 hangs on every try to configure the soundcard.. ok i think thats the announced bug on SMP. suse uses an smp kernel. so i recompiled a new susekernel and installed the devel release 0.9rc3, with libs, tools utilities and oos lib. i used configure and compiled with oss-support, sequencer and with the intel8x0 module only. to start the alsadriver i used the suse start-script. the modules.conf configurations i didnt change.. they are the suse-settings the soundcard was found and i can set properties using alsamixer. i set the volume level to high on every channel and unmuted muted channels. teh soundblaster should work but i hear nothing! whats wrong?? thnx.. peter ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of that same old cell phone?
