Still can't seem to be able to use both ports with this particular 
program , Pd. I'll try another midi program and see if that works.

Yes I've been using the firmware from Lars. I've tried emailing him but 
haven't received a reply. The version of firmware I'm using 
(ezusbmidi2x2.ihx)  is dated Dec. 11 2001, size 13.2k . Anyone have a 
newer one?
