Hello,

I am the "happy" owner of a Turtle Beach Montego A3D. I have just
installed RedHat 8.0 (Built up with gcc 3.2) and I am trying to get the
network card working.
I found a driver (http://aureal.sourceforge.net) but the resulting
module is unusable because it is based on a binary provided by the
manufacturer of the sound card and this binary, built with gcc 2.x does
not work with a kernel built with gcc 3.x ... Frustrating...

I discovered ALSA then and I installed the RPMs from
http://www.freshrpms.net.
The installed packages are the following:
alsa-lib-0.9.0rc3-fr3
alsa-utils-0.9.0rc3-fr2
balsa-1.2.4-7
alsa-driver-0.9.0rc3-fr11
alsaplayer-0.99.72-fr2
alsa-xmms-0.9.5-fr1
alsa-kernel-0.9.0rc3-fr11_2.4.18_14
alsa-lib-devel-0.9.0rc3-fr3

I looked then on the ALSA web page and I found the following
information: (http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/)

Support for cards or chipsets hilighted in GREY is undetermined as of
yet. with the Montego II being highlighted in grey....
Turtle Beach Montego II AU8830

I would like to know, how am I supposed to interpret this? I did not
manage to get my card working, how I am supposed to do?
If there are still some problems with the Montego, Is there a way I can
help? I am no programmer but I can test drivers if it can help and if it
can help me to get the support for my sound card....

Thanks in advance for any answer

                Daniel
