Hi,
i have a box with a Creative Labs Soundblaster Live,
newest alsa drivers, SuSe 8.0. I can play songs
without problems but i have two big problems:
1. i cannot record sound - when i record something i
just get silence although there's definitively a
signal on line-in.
i.e. "arecord -v" gives me Max peak (2048 samples):
00000 (0x0000) # 0%
Max peak (2048 samples): 00000 (0x0000) #
0%
Max peak (2048 samples): 00000 (0x0000) #
0%
Max peak (2048 samples): 00000 (0x0000) #
0%
Max peak (2048 samples): 00000 (0x0000) #
0%
Max peak (2048 samples): 00000 (0x0000) #
0%
M
etc. The Volume of line-in is about 80% and
'recording' is switched on (i used alsamixergui)
2. The signal on line-in is played on line-out
although i don't want that it is played. As soon as
the computer boots and the rcalsaconfig-script is
started the board starts playing the music from
line-in. The only possibility to stop it is to set the
line-in-volume to 0, but then i guess i cannot record
(which doesn't work, anyway...)
I have attached the output of "cat
/proc/asound/seq/oss" and "cat /proc/modules | grep
snd". If somebody needs more logfiles etc i will post
them. This is the first time that i used alsa so maybe
it's just something simple which i have forgotten...
Any help is highly appreciated!
Chris
