Hello,

I have Slackware 8.0 installed on a Thinkpad 600E, and tried to install
the CS4236 driver (0.9.0rc5). I followed the instructions on the
website, and all goes well until I reach the point where I have to
modprobe the modules.

"modprobe snd-cs4236" results in:

/lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/sound/acore/seq/snd-seq-device.o: unresolved
symbol snd_seq_root_R33662a66

Anybody have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Help much appreciated.

(I had alsa-0.5.0 installed before, which didn't work either, always
told me that the device was busy. Is there anything I have to remove
manually before installing 0.9.0?)

Best Regards,
