Has anyone had success in outputting 5.1 audio from SBLive cards?
I'm led to believe that the digital out connector can be made to act as a Center/LFE analog connector, but thus far the most I've been able to do is get it to play muffled versions of "something".
I've managed to get raw AC3 through the LiveDrive optical out, and managed to get 5.1 via the headphone out on the LiveDrive, but ideally I don't want to have the box I'm working on to have to have a LiveDrive in it, hence the desire to make things work using just the SBLive card.
Am I barking up the wrong tree, or can things be done... I'd be really really keen to find out!
-- the application I'm working on needs to be able to output 2 stereo channels + 3 mono channels + a sub channel; if I cant get things to work, I'm going to fall back to using the onboard sound card to generate two of the mono channels, and have the sblive do the rest, but I'd prefer not to have to do so.
