Unfortunately, the AWE64 is single-channel. That means it can't play more than one sound at a time. Your best shot is to try and use something like ESD which mixes sounds together to simulate multiple channels.
Since you have an AWE64 and are using release 5, could you try something? Type "arecord | aplay" and say something. You should hear yourself echo back a second later. Now, hit control-C and then try to play any sound file. Does the sound play correctly or does it play at about half speed with a lot of clicks? Also, do programs using the OSS emulation generate a loud squeal at the end of sounds? The reason I ask is that I've had these problems with an AWE64 and reverted to 0.5.12A which works much better for me. I'm trying to figure out whether these problems are genuine bugs or something about my setup, so I'd appreciate it if you could let me know what happens for you. Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
