Hi ListMembers,

although I just stated that analogue in on my CMI8738-MC6 based soundcard
Z-cyber Nightingale Pro 6
works rather well, it's very quiet.

On my old computer I used a Soundblaster AWE32 and I havn't changed anything
on
the wiring setup. The signal I'd got with the old board was much stronger.

First I thought it's the onboard sound device to blame (also CMI8738-MC6) but
the PCI soundboard doesn't provide a stronger signal.

Before I bought the Nightingale I'd read a rather good review on the board,
the
analogue in, whilst not the top range, was rated quite good. O.k., they tested
it on a Windows box. Not having win installed on my system, I've no way of
testing it.

My setup.
distribution: SuSE 8.0
kernel: 2.4.18
alsa version 0.9.0rc5

Any help/pointers very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Moppel
