[Alsa-user] midi debian and emu10k1

hi list,

i have debian sid and the alsa .9rc 5 installed. i now want to use timidity as an softsynth and/or use my cardwith sf2 files.
i have the following problems:

timidity doesn't find /dev/sequencer (after using cat /dev/sequencer it work for some time now cat doesn't find the device)
when i somehow made timidity run the pmidi-program couldn't find a port althoug timidity claims to be running at 128:0
pmidi doesn't find any ports when i use sfxload...

does anyone has tried to do this as well? how do i have to set up my soundcard?
the other features of alsa work quite fine ....
