What is so "advanced" about alsa drivers? It doesn't work for via686a
driver. I can't get it to record.
I followed the directions in the installation doc from
www.alsa-project.org, one note: via82xx driver does not exist, it is now
snd-card-via686a.
When all is said and done I can play audio, using xamixer to set levels.
But, nothing else. No recording.
I try to run alsamixer and it bombs saying no mixer #0 #0 or the sort.
I try running arecord and it craters sayinmg there are no recording devices.
I am using
alsa-driver-0.5.12a
alsa-lib-0.5.10b
alsa-utils-0.5.10
One thing I noticed is that the audio is very "gappy" up when running xine.
So, no record and bad audio output.
I no the via will rcord, it does under Windows.
