Hi, I'm trying to get the S/PDIF output on the Terratec DMX XFire 1024 to activate.
According to the web page, the (optical) digital output is supported on this card, but there's no extra advice attached to it, so I assumed it would work 'out of the box.' I tried the advice which I saw attached to the instructions for some other cards, namely editing /etc/asound.state and setting 'value true' for 'IEC958 Output Switch,' then running 'alsactl restore' but the 'locked' light on my DAC stays dim. Any advice gratefully received.
