Hi everybody,
Has anybody compiled ALSA along with kernel 2.4.19? Actually all
the how-tos say I should compile alsa modules separately and put them in
proper directories( do make install ). But I would like to put all the
alsa driver configuration inside kernel config file. So that when I
compile the kernel, alsa gets built automatically. For achieving this, I
have tried kmerge script distributed along with alsa source tarball. The
problem is, it uses a patch file which I feel is for kernel 2.5.X
versions.
I have a Mandrake 9.0 distro running. I wanted to recompile the
vanilla kernel 2.4.19 to be used on the same machine. I have seen the
kernel config file in /boot directory for mandrake. It has ALSA config
built into it.
So my question is that how I do it the mandrake way. I am sure
there is some way and someone of you must have done it. I mean merging
alsa with kernel 2.4.19 ( I know it works for 2.5 but for now I am
interested in 2.4.19 only )

Thanks a lot.
Mukhben.
