On a new laptop (VPR Matrix 200, made by Best Buy of all people, and so far excellent, only Linux stumbling block has been sound) I have tried with 9.0rc6 and all 2.5 kernels after 2.5.50 and either the system will hang trying to get the codec loaded and will invariably fail with: ALSA sound/pci/ali5451/ali5451.c:389: ali_codec_ready: codec is not ready.
The OSS module works fine (except no sound in headphones) I have been struggling with this for a couple of weeks, any advice would be appreciated.
