Hello,
I've got a Hercules Gametheater XP which has been driving me up the wall to
try and get to work under Gentoo Linux. I used ALSA 9.0rc7 and followed the
directions from the ALSA soundcard matrix. Sadly, when I tried to test the card, the
sound was horribly distorted. (Under Windows, it does the same thing when you attempt
to use the reference drivers for the chipset. Sounds awesome with the Hercules ones
though.) I've tried various things to get it working, such as using older versions,
compiling the cvs version, but no luck. Has anyone gotten this card to work properly
in Linux? If so, please tell me how you did. It's the last thing preventing me from
switching to Linux as my primary OS (I've got Win2k and Linux on a dual boot at the
moment).

Thanks!

- Jack
