hi, i'm a total newbie, i've seen your post about
your problem, i found out there was a known issue about nforce2, alsa and ide
support ( i'm on red hat 8 )
i found there was a patch that solve ide issues in
kernel 2.4.21pre4 and more, i also found alsa kernel patch that solve alsa
support issues in the CCRMA kernel, but it works on red hat, maybe you can take
it at CCRMA site. the patch is a kernel patch that has been released on
18/12/2002.
no kernel gave me sound before 2.4.21pre4, some
didn't even boot.
your problem is different, i think nforce1
shouldn't have those problems ( that's what i've read )
