you get one thing working and u find another is broken, and i was
just thinking that only eax wasn't working.....
anyways, if u have ISA, i strongly recommend AWE 64, you may be thinking
it's a step back, but i found it has excellent quality (imo no diff from live)
it has all the features you state below, is fully supported under linux, and
if you can find AWEWavePlayer somewhere, it will provide eax like effects
under linux...
as for pci, the ensoniq based creative cards just dont sound good at all,
and the audigy series isn't supported much better than live, as for other
companies i dont know as i have only tried creative (except for CMI onboard,
and yamaha 724, both have poor quality)
Hi There fellow ALSA users!
I've been struggeling for a while with my SB live (dammit) soundcard, to make the MIDI interface work, and finally i've sort of given it up!
Now my question is; Which soundcard should i by instead, to ensure full MIDI support?
My wishes are:
Full MIDI support (including connecting an external keyboard)
Soundfont support
and finally std. pcm output support!
tanx!
