Hi,
Since you're using the Planet, try out Jack and qjackconnect for
real-time applications. This will give you access to all 26 channels.

You do not need a .asoundrc file. I do not use one for either me HDSP
9652 or my Hammerfall Light.

Subject: [Alsa-user] Newbie with an RME Hammerfall

Hi, completely new to linux, so I got RH8.0 and used the Planet CCRMA at
Home
to get sound support with ALSA and sound applications.

Here a some (probably silly) questions:

- Now I can get some sound out of it, but how do you access all the
channels?
The only thing that works is ADAT1 channels 1&2. Where are the other 24
channels?
- Do I have to write up an .asoundrc file myself?
   - If yes, where is there usable info on how to do that?
- any application knowing to work with all this? (muse can record, but not
play the files it saved, audacity crashes when you hit record and ecasound
freezes the whole system when you play back)
- amixer says "no mixer elements found": is this because the rme has no
onboard mixer?

That's for starters :) Thanks for any (really any) info.
