Ok.. Installed Alsa from source, redhat 8 2.4.18-24.8.0
Alsa works, plays sound - so that works.. now in XMMS it plays but i cannot fade to my left speaker. In Quake 3 i have no '3d' sound, stereo support my guess, but with oss i could hear where people were comming from, not so with alsa.
