My current setup: Motherboard: Asus A7N266-VM (Nforce chipset) Distro: Slackware 8.1 (tried on RH 8.0 as well, same results)
Self compiled alsa-0.9.0rc7 xine-lib-1.0.0beta6 xine-ui-0.9.18 or my own gui flxine I have tried several differnt xine-lib versions, from cvs to any of the 1.0 releases, all with the exact same results. Current mixer setting: http://www.newtsplace.com/~newt/amixer.txt I have the mixer setup for all analog outputs, with the Line-in as the rears, and the Mic as the Center/Lfe outputs. The problem: This problem is really perplexing me, in xine, when playing any 5.1 encoded stream the 5.1 channel output 'walks' meaning that the channel locations are not constant. Sometimes the sound is comming out correctly from all channels, other times after skipping to another point in the stream, for example, the channels will be misaligned, the center/lfe output may be coming out the rear, the rears out the center/lfe, sometimes the center appears to be downmixed through the front. The only way to get the channels proper again is to keep skipping through the stream (keeps re-initializing audio output) until things line up again. I don't think this is a xine problem, as it happens with both the oss, and alsa drivers, and I get NONE of these errors with my SBLive! 5.1, using the alsa drivers, or the emu10k1 driver set. I have also tested with the exact same result using a test 6 channel ac3 file, with ac3_extract on a vob piped to ac3dec. The channel choice seems random, at best... :( Help! Any ideas!?! -Nate ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
