problem. Which version are you using? Iheard, that there are lots of problems
between gcc 2.9.x and gcc 3.x. If you have an older gcc version, maybe you'd
try updating it.

I'm using the stock gcc compiler 2.95.3 included in Slackware 8.1. Also,
I'm getting a compilation error the alsa-lib package as well. Even version .9rc8a doesn't fix the problem. Upgrading my compiler isn't really a viable solution at the moment. If all else fails, I need to return to a CVS pull between the 17th-28th of Feb within the next two days because I go offline for awhile.
