Dear all,

In my system alsa0.9.0rc6 is installed with a SBLive! card. Via the digital output of my CDROM sound is transferred to the soundcard and is available at the analog output.
The problem is that the sound samples are not available for processing (I am using BruteFIR) in software taking input from ALSA. This has worked before but after installing a new version of linux SUSE8.1 and updating ALSA it does not work anymore.

What confuses me is that the sound is available in the soundcard and the input/output volume control in alsamixer works, however, software cannot take input from ALSA.

What can be the problem here? Do I need to set a switch?

Thanks

Gerard Janssen
