Hi, I have installed alsa-0.9.2 with an RME Multiface (card bus) with kernel 2.4.18-27.8.0 on redhat 8.0 on a presario 1510us. I can get sound out with aplay, sweep, and mxv. arecord seems to work as well, but I did not check it extensively. However, when I start pd the system freezes; no mouse or keyboard response. I had similar experiences with 0.9.0rc5 and rc7. I had rc3 working with pd on 2.4.18-17.8.0 and I also have it working with 2.4.18-27.8.0. Is there anything other than "Make clean; ./configure; make; make install", I need to do to install a new version of the alsa drivers.
I am wondering if anybody has experienced similar problems or if anybody has 0.9.2 working with pd on redhat 2.4.18-27.8.0. Any help, info, or pointers will be appreciated.
