Is there any support for using the
creative extigy remote with the alsa
sound drivers? There is an oss driver
I have been using that supports it,
it's a hack on the oss usb-audio
driver. I have done a little work on
it myself and I might be willing to
port it to the alsa usb driver, but
how would I incorporate it?

Would I have to branch it off like
what happened to the oss driver or
could it be incorporated into the main
alsa usb-audio driver?

The maintainer of the oss driver
claims that the remote code can't be
seperated from the audio code, I made
an attempt myself but couldn't get it
to work properly.
