to activate the rear outputs in alsamixer you need to unmute the chanel called : AC97 2ch
and set volume for the surround channel to 100%.
get 3D chanels volume to 0% (they add effect to sounds, i don't need it).
Just as a note, this doesn't exist on the VIA 8235.
and now i can send sound to /dev/dsp (front) and /dev/adsp (rear)
Is there documenation somewhere that explains OSS? E.g., that /dev/adsp are the rear speakers?
