If I run:
# esd &
It runs okay.
And alsamixer gives me everything okay too (I already unmuted the channels).
When I try to play a sound (with gtcd for example) no errors happens but no sound plays ! It's like my channels are unmute, but they arent!
I had lots of trouble with esd when I was running versions prior to 0.9.4; if esd was running I couldn't get most applications to play. I've just checked, and 0.9.4 will run xmms, xine, & "play" when esd is running.
