The joystick port setting is hidden as a control. Run "alsactl store",
then edit /etc/asound.state and change the joystick settings, then run
"alsactl restore".

Most distributions automatically run these command when shutting down
or starting the computer; in this case, you can simply edit the
asound.state file.
