I successfully installed the ALSA drivers 0.9.4 on an Intel Centrino notebook (the ASUS M3410C, Linux report at http://luca.pca.it/projects/asus/M3410C.htm). The installation completes ok only if I enable the ACPI at boot, if not there're problems with the IRQ addresses.
Anyway, now my card works perfectly with the snd-intel8x0 module, but there's a little problem: I'm using Debian with a custom 2.4.21 kernel patched with the latest ACPI available and under Gnome 2.2/XFree86 4.3 I can't use the XMMS if I'm not the 'root' user, I mean, everytimes I log in as normal user and I try to play an mp3 song, I see the time (00.00), but then XMMS freezes. While as 'root' I can perfectly hear the song with ALSA or OSS plugins.
Please help me, I can't figure out what is wrong, as my normal user is already in the 'audio' group.
Thanks, byt Gismo / Luca
