Sorry for posting on multiple lists, but this concernes both parties. I am
sending this message to alsa-user mailing list
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and the Linux USB users list
([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

I'm having trouble with my M-audio Quattro. I have been experiencing crashes
with it. Quite a few actually. I've had 5-6 crashes in two weeks. I think I
finally figured out what triggers the crash. I hear a crackle from the
Quattro when I'm running Jack and the bathroom light is switched on. After I
added 1+1 together and figured out they could be connected with eachother,
the light got turned on again and CRASH.

The crash is quite total. Most of the time the magic sysrq keys work (once
it didn't, but I was testing a patched kernel), so I can at least boot the
computer without the reset button, but even though I do a alt-sysrq -S(ync)
-U(mount) -B(oot) sequence, the disks stay mounted and have to be checked at
poweron.

I'm going to work on my wiring but I would like to draw some attention to
this. An operating system should not crash if a USB device fails to work
properly. The people who develop these drivers are welcome to contact me so
that I can install their patches and start harassing the lightswitch. :)

My setup:
 Asus A7V (via chipset)
 Duron 650mhz
 256mb RAM
 ATI Rage 128 (AGP)
 Terratec DMXfire (pci soundcard)
 M-Audio Quattro
 Linux 2.4.21
 Alsa 0.9.4

 Thanks. Sampo
