I am wanting to compile the alsa-drivers for a different kernel. The story is that I have another operating system on the same PC that runs off a compact flash. It is running a kernel that does have soundsuport and I have previously been able to load the sb.o modules to get the es1869 card working however these drivers are crap and offer no gain control which is crucial to my application.
I have been unable to get the latest release of alsa-driver-0.9.5 working due to have using redhat6.2 (I have tried my best but no go) however I have had success using the alsa-driver-0.5.2 which does give me igain in the mixer program.
So the question is what do I change in the alsa-driver directory ie Makefile so that I can compile the modules into the correct directories on the compact flash. I can mount the compact flash so that it can do this in real time.
Please Help I am out of ideas??
