I have just installed alsa-libs, alsa-driver, alsa-utils and
envy24control from alsa-tools from source on a Redhat 9 system. But when
I try to run alsamixer or envy24control, I get this message "function
snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory". What could
possibly be wrong?
I have a Midiman Delta Audiophile 2496 soundcard, and it should work
with alsa.

Sincerely,

Andre Kvist Aronsen
