When I wrote the driver, there was no uniform naming scheme to be recognized in ALSA, so I picked widely used control names. Use e.g. alsamixer to get the names of the controls. The older one, unfortunately :-\ (rev. 16 is a newer revision which managed to fix sound crackling for me) When the system freezes: WHY does it freeze? Could you go to your syslog console (I hope you do have configured such a thing) and check the output once it freezes? To be fair, I'm currently not using the card too much, so I'm not sure how stable the driver actually is at the moment.
