I'm running Debian Sarge (2.4.20) and Debian packages version 0.9.4-1.
Recordings using an iMic have terrible "static". Any suggestions on
debugging or improving things? Has anyone had success recording with
ALSA and an iMic? With what settings? Output from amixer included
below.

On a Windows XP machine, the same iMic and microphone produce adequate
recordings.

        thanks,
        mike
