I have a via 82c686a soundcard. I've just updated the kernel to 2.4.18 and installed alsa, but when I try to use mplayer (with alsa for sound output) and xmms (with the alsa plugin) xmms crashes if mplayer is playing. So I guess that multiplexing doesn't work, but I don't really know where to start looking. Here is a part of my modules.conf:

Also, if I try to run artsd using alsa, it doesn't work, I have to use OSS (alsa's emulated one...)
