Just for the record, my EMI 2|6 played sound fine with a stock install of Mandrake 9.1 on a Compaq motherboard with builtin USB. I've found myself using Mandrake for hardware detection and generating usable configs that I then take over to a Gentoo system to do real work. There must be a better way but this is the best I can think at the moment.
Nick, I have the same PowerBook as you. The EMI is recognized by the kernel but I haven't installed ALSA yet. I'll keep the list updated. -l[e^2] ------------------------------ http://www.fallingforward.net/ people experimenting with music, art and technology On Thu, 4 Sep 2003, nick phillips wrote: > Thanks for the advice!
