I am a new linux user - I switched when a driver for the layla 24 came out.
I'm running gentoo linux.
I had the alsa driver emerged through the gentoo portage system but the snd-echoaudio module is not included, and when I decided to try and compile from scratch I "unmerged" alsa. Currently there are no alsa drivers on my system.
I've followed the steps at this link: http://space.virgilio.it/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ea.html as they are written but they haven't worked for me, and I think they are inconsistent with current versions. However where a person who knew what they were doing could make intelligent decisions on how to adjust the instructions, I just can't.
I don't understand how to patch the driver or what the patch is.
I've searched this forum for info and didn't find anything helpful
please have mercy on me!
thanks in advance
