Hello. Let me discribe my situation as follows, and maybe someone has an idea how to fix this. I have an on-board soundcard (C-Media CMI8738/3DX) on my Asus Mainboard. It is working somehow acceptable, except the problem with the microphone. It goes as follows: The mic in itself gives a relative clear signal, allthough it is very low volume. So i thought, let's turn on the mic-boost button found in the alsa-mixer, and ok, it worked, but unforunately it had only effects on the speaker volume and the record volume was still the same. This is a very big problem, because in order to be heard i had go plug in the chain an effects processor from my old music session days, but that's not a real solution, since i think the mic boost button should not be there in vain. So i hope anyone can tell me how to increase the mic sensitivity not only for the speakers but also for the record level as well, because that's been the effect when pressing the mic-boost under windows. Hint: My mic capture and mic volume are booth at the highest level possible, and my Mic as center/Lfe button is turned off. So if anyone has an idea how to fix this bug, i would very much apreciate it. Regards, Attila.
